Loving you: Creating with the GingerSnap Collection

Hello Pretty Little Studio friends

Shanel Pettyjohn here with the Pretty Little Studio Design Team sharing a layout that pairs sweet family photos with beautiful autumn patterned papers and floral embellishments from the Pretty Little Studio Ginger Snap Collection. The warm colors and watercolor details create such a lovely setting for these precious photos of my son and sweet little grand daughter!

About this layout:

For the background, I used white card stock framed with a narrow orange border. I arranged die cut hexagons in opposite corners, creating a diagonal flow that draws the eye through the photographs. I love using geometric shapes on my pages!

Hand stitching around the hexagons adds another layer of texture. I combined white thread with touches of warm golden orange thread to define the shapes and complement the fall colors. A few separate hexagons featuring tiny hearts from the Candy Corn patterned paper extend the pattern into the white space and connect the corner arrangements to the photo area.

The autumn papers in the Ginger Snap Collection are full of charming details! Pumpkins, mushrooms, woodland animals, leaves, and delicate flowers bring something different to each hexagon. Cutting the Pumpkin Pie patterned paper into smaller shapes lets me showcase several designs without overwhelming the photos. Their shared palette of rusty orange, burgundy, mustard, and soft neutrals keeps the mix feeling very cohesive.

The floral embellishments soften the geometric background beautifully. At the lower left, I layered a bouquet with long stems and finished it with a simple twine bow to resemble a wildflower bouquet, adhering it with foam adhesive. The loose bow adds a gentle, handmade detail that feels right at home. On the opposite side, a larger cluster of florals from Ginger Snap Dried Flowers die cuts frame the photograph. A smaller floral accent tucked above the photos repeats the colors and helps with the visual triangle in my design.

The bold “Loving you” title from Ginger Snap Loving Life titles anchors the photo grouping, while small dimensional hearts from Ginger Snap Dried Flowers die cuts echo the heart print scattered throughout the page. I love how those little repeated details bring everything together!

Try pairing a small geometric shape with larger floral embellishments on your next layout. It’s a lovely way to enjoy several favorite papers and create a meaningful frame for your story.
