Wintery Wishes on a Hot, Summer Day / Frosty and Friends Collection
Tara J ORourke • July 17, 2026

Hello Scrappy Friends!  Tara here with a layout using Frosty and Friends.  I don't know about you, but I am struggling a little bit with the high temps we've had so far this summer.  I just moved from a dry climate to a humid one and it's a struggle.  It has me beginning to wish for cooler temperatures.  I know...bite my tongue! It'll be here before we know it.

Today, I am playing with the August Sketch challenge and making it my own.  For me, a sketch is a jumping off point and I like to change them up to suit my photos, stories and style. I started with plain, white cardstock and ran it through my electronic cutting machine to cut out three hexagons in different sizes. I added some mixed media to my white cardstock using the packaging technique.  From there, I used patterned papers from Frosty and Friends to back those hexagons, popping up my background with foam tape.  After that it was easy to add some embellishments from the collection.  For my title, I used some tile letters from a collection that is no longer available, Grateful Heart, but I linked up a similar set from Frosty and Friends below.

If you would like to see me create this video, I do have a process video up on my channel!

Below are the items that I used.  You can click on each image and it will take you directly to the shop to snag some goodies for yourself!

Hi! I have been scrapbooking for over 25 years! I would describe my style as single page multi photo layouts with lots of layering and a little bit of mixed media thrown in.
