Hi Friends! Today I have a layout for the August Texture Challenge. You will be able to play along with this and the other August challenges for a chance to win the monthly prize! All of the information is on the Facebook group linked above.  I can't wait to see how you will add texture to your layouts!

For my layout, I started with a plain white, heavy weight cardstock. I added some mixed media to the background using a few different techniques (you can watch the video linked before if you are interested in seeing that process). The first step in creating lots of texture is using different mediums and adding layers! I used scraps of these papers to create lots of circles (to mimic bubbles) City Life, Out of the Blue, three different scraps from the 6x9 pack and a scrap from the vellum pack.  I used three round labels to continue with the circle theme. I also stitched two circle in coordinating thread (more texture!)

To embellish I used lots of diecuts from the Lemonade Mix, a border from Snowcone Borders, a quote from Enjoy the Season tags  (Gingersnap collection) and to complete the Happy Summer Adventure title cut aparts from Sandcastle Cut Aparts. I also added our giant bubble ingredients by using a sticker from Splish Splash Words and alpahs Sunshine and Blue Moon.  To add additional texture I added foam tape of differing heights behind some of these elements.
