Friends are Family You Choose | Love Is Kind | September Scraplift Challenge

Hello to all of my fellow Pretty Little Studio creators! This month I had so much fun scraplifting Evelyne Schmidtke's recent PLS layout!

I used the Love Is Kind collection.


Here's the fabulous inspiration from Evelyne! 


One of my favorite papers from the Love Is Kind collection is the gorgeous yellow butterfly "Never Change." I loved all of the fun moments in Evelyne's background, so I dug through my stamp stash, and I started adding some black, blue, yellow and peach stamping to match the colors I knew I would be using in my layout. Even in "random" scatters of stamping, the human eye loves to see some patterns. I accomplish this by grouping my stamping together in clusters. I added blue butterflies from the Two of a Kind pack to coordinate with the blues in my photo, and I used peach cutouts from the You & Me Word Flags to coordinate with my chosen title. My absolute favorite stitches stickers Sewn with Love made the perfect accent for under the phrases.




Here's another one of the clusters. I try to always work in groups of three elements, and I keep triangle designs in mind.




The title "Friends Are Family You Choose" from the Friends Forever word titles pack was perfect for this photo of my daughter with her best friend. I didn't want the title just floating around my page, so I added one of the large banners from the Be Mine banners pack to anchor it. You absolutely cannot beat the price of $1 for the Share the Love cut-aparts patchwork heart above my title. I'm always happy to invest a few minutes with my scissors to get so many perfect embellishments!




On the side of my photo, I used two of the borders from the Side By Side scallops pack, and underneath my picture a label from the Be Mine pack made the perfect foundation.




Here's the final project one more time. I love the bright, happy colors and all of the elements celebrating friendship the Love Is Kind collection brings!
